Subhas Chandra Bose devoted his life to the Indian independence movement. Why is he still waiting in a corner of Tokyo, unable to return to his home country India?

He is said to have died in an accident at the airport in Taipei on August 18, 1945. His remains were then entrusted to this Renko-ji Temple via Asha’s (Asako’s) mother.

To this day, there has been no verification as to whether or not they are really Bose’s remains. Even though the Presidents and Prime Ministers of India have visited here.

There may be various political circumstances. But already, an immense amount of time has passed. Please let him go back to India!!

インドの独立を獲得するために戦った、スバス・チャンドラ・ボース。第二次世界大戦中、彼が率いるインド国民軍と日本軍との結びつきは深かった。

彼は、1945年8月18日、台北の空港で事故死したとされている。その後、彼の遺骨は朝子（アーシャ）の母親を経て、この蓮光寺に託された。

本当にボースの遺骨なのかどうか、検証がされないまま、今日に至る。インドの大統領や総理大臣が、ここに参拝してきたにもかかわらず。

どうして、いまだに、インドへ帰ることができないのか。諸々の政治的な事情もあるのだろう。しかしもう、絶大なる歳月が流れた。
